Generating a Totally Focused Colour Image from Recordings of a Plenoptic Camera

Abstract

This paper presents a method to calculate a totally focussed colour image from recordings of a plenoptic camera. The three colour channels have to be extracted from the raw image. The virtual depth is estimated analyzing the disparities of image points in different microlens images which correspond to the same object point. With the such created depth map, the image points are chosen from the microlens image with correct focus to create the totally focused colour image.
